Nicht nur die COVID-19-Pandemie beeinträchtigt die Lieferketten der Branche, auch der Übergang zu alternativen Antrieben und die Digitalsierung stellen die Branche vor Unsicherheiten und Herausforderungen.

Disruptions in automotive industry value chains in Central and Eastern Europe: implications for productivity and growth
For many Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries the automotive sector plays an important role for jobs and growth. The industry is highly integrated into international supply chains, particularly with Germany. Beyond disruptions of supply chains in the COVID-19 pandemic, the industry faces many uncertainties and challenges due to the transition to alternative power trains and digitalization.
Based on an OECD study, we discussed on December the 16th prospects for the recovery of the CEE automobile industry, changes in supply chains and potential effects of the green and digital transformation for the industry.
